MUSLIM "BARBIE"

A mompreneur in Indonesia has created a Muslim "Barbie". After seeing her niece playing with a Barbie type doll, that she felt didn't embody Muslim values, 28 year old mother of one, Sukmawati Suryaman began producing one that did. Click here for more of the story. I think this rocks!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE BOTTLES!

I absolutely love Dr. Brown's bottles. We have tried a BUNCH of bottles! These are by far, in my opinion, the best! And now they make sippy/training cups and breast pumps. These products are a little more expensive than their competitors but soooo worth it. The come in 2oz, 4oz and 8oz sizes, both in standard and wide neck. Check 'em out. Click the link above.

TODDLE LIKE A ROCK STAR! INTRODUCING THE RODDLER...

Check out this cool new ride! A stroller made by Kid Kustoms that is tricked out to the fullest! These guys will even custom design a ride for your little one. The price tag is a bit steep...STARTING AT $2500. This item is already what's hot among the rich and famous.

AWWW...IMMORTALIZE YOUR LITTLE ONE'S HANDS

I am always looking for cool products for kids and keepsakes for moms. I found two neat items over at Red Envelope. One is a "Hand Print Tower". For thirty bucks you can capture your little one's hand prints from age 1 up to age 5. The hand print kit comes in pink or blue tins. Makes a great shower gift!

The other cool gift (and another way to immortalize your little one) also from Red Envelope is a personalized fairytale or animal story book. You can have either book personalized with your child's name. My favorite is the animal story book. It introduces animals that correspond to each letter of your child's name. These books are sure to make reading fun for your kids. Each book cost $35. Check em' out.

"WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES"

Thanks Gena, for submitting the following....

EBMRF and DebRA of America have connected to support "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" Relay-Rally for National Epidermolysis Bullosa Awareness Week
The EB community's first national awareness. In 2006, after extensive lobbying, Congress and the Senate enacted this awareness week in perpetuity, so this is a very special time for the EB community - this is a rare disorder, and most people have no idea of its many painful challenges. If you want to participate on the secondary roads of the Relay by walking, running, biking, or attending a Rally in support of our awareness objectives at one of the eight Rallies across America, please see http://www.pr.com/press-release/39945 and check out the legislation and website, www.ebrelay.org for further information.

THE GAL TO GAL FOUNDATION'S VIRTUAL WALK

Two women, Robin Bloksberg and Janis Armstrong, who lost their battle with breast cancer inspired the formation of the Gal to Gal Foundation. Th honor these women, the Virtual Walk to benefit the Gal to Gal Foundation begins in Robin's hometown of Boston and ends in Janis' hometown of San Francisco.

I joined the Virtual Walk in honor of my grandmother, Lessie Branson, who is, fortunately, a 20 year plus breast cancer survivor. This is a fun way to raise money and bring awareness. You can design your own "gal"! Visit www.galtogalwalk.org and for a donation of only $3.00 you can participate in the walk. Think about it...you don't have to leave your home or office to help out a worthy cause! To date the Virtual Walk has raised $24,972. Today we are in New York.

CelEBration ON THE PIER-Santa Monica

There were some awesome events that took place over this past weekend...

Kinerase Skincare presents...CelEBration on the Pier, a benefit for the EB Medical Research Foundation hosted by Courtney Cox and hubby David Arquette, took place in Santa Monica on Saturday. The EB Medical Research Foundation is a volunteer nonprofit foundation dedicated to the support of medical research of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), its causes, the development of successful treatments, and ultimately, its cure. Epidermolysis Bullosa is is a group of diseases characterized by blister formation after minor trauma to the skin. This family of disorders, most of which are inherited, range in severity from mild to the severely disabling and life-threatening diseases of the skin. This rare genetic disorder affects all ethnic and racial groups. Estimates indicate that as many as 100,000 Americans suffer from some form of EB. Please, please visit www.ebkids.org and learn more about this tragc disease. Here are some pics from the event....

A WORD ON UNDERAGE DRINKING

As a mom, I found this very interesting and surprising...Did you know that 65% of underage youth obtain alcohol from family and friends? And that only 7% of underage youth report that they obtained alcohol from retailers that did not check ID. Well...there is an organization, The Century Council, that has made it a mission to fight drunk driving and underage drinking. Check out there various initiatives.

WHAT'S FOR DINNER?

DINE WITHOUT WHINE

This is a neat little service for moms on the go or just for folks, like me, that aren't that creative in the kitchen. Another "mompreneur", Christine Steendahl started Dine Without Whine a service that, for a small fee of $4.95 per month, provides the following...

A Personal Note From Christine (the founder)
Main Dish Recipes For Dinner Every Night Of The Week
Suggestions For Side Dishes
Brunch Ideas For Saturday And Sunday
A Couple Dessert Recipes To Be Used Anytime During the Week
PLUS:
Each menu will include a grocery list (categorized by aisle) for the week that includes all the necessary ingredients to prepare the recipes highlighted in the newsletter! All you have to do is cross off any items you may already have on hand - add breakfast, snack or lunch items you may need and you're ready to shop!

FOR TECH SAAVY MOMS

Check out this great looking laptop for those mompreneurs, bloggers, and plain ole internet surfers. This is a piece of art! I am always looking for something unique and Sony VAIO has prevailed. Their new line of laptops have art filled lids created by Maya Hayuk. I've googled Maya but haven't found a website for her work yet. There are plenty of articles regarding her out on the net though. Check her out.

BABY BOOTY BALMS

I am one of those persons that loves products. Products for myself and products for my baby...well when researching lotions and balms for Tristan (my baby) I came across two brands I had never heard of Badger Balms and Bad Ass Booty Balm. Badger Balms boasts all natural ingredients including chamomile and calendula. They have entire line of balms and creams just for baby as well as a little something for moms. Check 'em out at http://www.badgerbalm.com/

I'll have to say my all time favorite is Bad Ass Booty Balm from Least Likely 2 Breed. The diaper ointment is packaged in a very cool tin and what I really like is that a detailed description is given(via website) of all of the ingredients that go into each product. Oh yeah, her other products include Tough Titties Nipple Rub for nursing moms and Mother Effer's Va J-J Jelly for, umm.....vaginal dryness.

HOT HOLIDAY TOYS!!!

These are some of the toys I think the kiddies are gonna want this holiday season. I will try and update frequently!Shop early! Check the usual, www.toyrus.com, www.amazon.com, or www.etoys.com.
